RV Mahaythi Cruise

Pleasantly cruise with the RV Mahaythi to travel into the Delta region, via Pathein where the traditional umbrella and clay pot painting workshops are located. You can see the Delta Region, native villages, the mighty Ayeyarwady River & final destination at beautiful unspoiled white sand Ngwe Saung Beach and return back to Yangon by land drive.

Mahaythi, the Queen was repaired and reshaped using Thingan wood and teak woods from old barge carrying rice, sands and salts around the delta region, is a fleet with unique concepts differed from other barges on the river, includes dining lounge area at upper desk for 70-90 passengers day trips and dinner cruises that is inspired by turn of the century traditional architecture. Below deck will have 5 bed rooms to accommodate 10 passengers for overnight trips which consist of 1 double bed room with air-con and bath room attached and 4 twin bed rooms with air-con & bath room attached.

Up Stream

Day 1-                               Yangon-Twante-Ma U Bin

Check in on board RV Mahaythi for departure at 08:00 AM from Wardan Jetty No (1) and arriving Twante around 09:30 AM. After the clients having the sightseeing around Twante with horse carts, the boat will sailing to Maubin. The lunch will be hosted on the boat. You arrive at Ma U Bin 15:00 pm, an entrance city to the Ayeyarwady Division and famous for its fishing ponds and the Pawdawmu Pagoda. Overnight on board. (B- L- D)

Day 2-                               Ma U Bin- Shwe Laung- Wakema

Breakfast on board while navigating to the Shwe Laung which is visit the downtown and market area. In the afternoon you arrive at Wakema and visit the local dock yards, rice mills and vermicelli factories. Overnight on board. (B- L- D)

Day 3-                               Wakema- Myanung Mya-Pathein (Ngwe Saung Beach)

Early morning arrive at Pulu village, famous for its ancient monastery and continue to Myaung Mya. Enjoy the great scenery of the river side and in touch culture of the villages. Myaung Mya is another major trading town, also well known for the nearby group of ancient stupas (Bagan style) and the Mya Sein Yaung monastery, where the brother of the late Tharmanya Sayadaw is living. At noon depart from Myaung Mya and continue to Pathein. Disembark and transfer to your hotel. Dinner & overnight in Ngwe Saung Beach (your preferred choice of hotel). (B- L- D)

Day 4-                               Ngwe Saung Beach

Breakfast at the hotel and enjoy at leisure in Ngwe Saung. Overnight at Ngwe Saung. (B)

Day 5-                               Ngwe Saung Beach- Pathein-Yangon

Breakfast at the hotel and morning at leisure in Ngwe Saung Beach. Pick up around mid-day from the hotel by car for the six hour journey back to Yangon via Pathein. Arrive Yangon late afternoon and transfer to hotel. (B)

Fixed Departure Dates for Year 2007/08

Advise: If your travel dates are not coincided with above departure dates, RV Mahaythi has regular alternative dates for downstream cruise. As identical as above tour, you could be enjoyed cruise on return, while going to Ngwe Saung from Yangon by land driving first.
